There is nothing quite as relaxing as sitting on the banks of the Watauga River in the shadow of the beautiful Grandfather Mountain, enjoying an award-winning wine at Grandfather Vineyard! With seasonal music and food trucks, this delightful setting is ideal for a picnic or leisurely afternoon. Appalachian Mountain Brewing

Located near the Boone mall, AML's mission is to sustainably brew high quality beer, support local non-profits and help our community prosper. Simply put, they are about sustainability, community, and philanthropy. With a rustic tasting room and outdoor seating, they are also usually accompanied by a food truck for pizza and other yummy options. A large selection of original brews are available to suit every palate. Open daily.

linville falls winery

Gorgeous gardens and facility house the Linville Falls Winery, where daily summer tastings are complemented by live music on weekend afternoons 3 - 6pm. Winter hours are more limited—see website. Located a little further from our properties (~45 minutes), it is a lovely drive and delightful way to spend an afternoon with friends or family. They are family owned and operated, passionate about growing quality grapes and making delicious wine in the Appalachian High Country. Come enjoy a flight, a glass, or a bottle on the veranda.

In the heart of quaint Blowing Rock lies the Blowing Rock Brewery, with seating in the outside gardens or cozy inside. Their Legacy series offers you flagship brews that have been with them from the beginning, while the Ale House Series consists of their ever-changing, artisan brews, crafted by experimenting with local ingredients and mountain resources. These are complemented by a hearty menu of classic pub fare with a modern twist.
